Enjoy a weekend workshop on Macro Photography. Over three sessions, learn technologies and practices to create stunning close-up pictures.

Thursday, Sept. 18 | 7 to 9 p.m. | Online

We will start the workshop with a 2-hour online session to discuss:

• Gear, lighting, and techniques to apply in the field
• What the effects of lens choice, distance, angle, and f-stop choice are on depth of field
• Controlling the shutter speed to ensure a sharp image
• The difference between micro and macro photography

Saturday, Sept. 20 | 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. | In person

We’ll meet up on location and shoot together! During this time we’ll apply the techniques discussed during the online session and look for:

• Flowers
• Insects
• Patterns
• Textures

A lunchbreak will be held at noon.

Sunday, Sept. 21 | 8 a.m. to noon | In person

We’ll spend the morning on location and shooting again!

In the afternoon, we’ll meet online and organize and edit images via Adobe Lightroom.

Sunday, Sept. 21 | 1 to 4:30 p.m. | Online

• Lightroom Classic (desktop version) is needed for this session!
• Import and keyword images
• Walk through basic editing techniques in Lightroom
• Export for printing and social media

Gear and Software Requirements:

• DSLR with macro lens OR point and shoot camera with macro mode
• Tripod
• Small, handheldreflector
• Adobe Lightroom Classic (desktop version)
