Bird Photography Workshop at Farmington Bay: Saturday, May 29th

Thanks to everyone who joined us at Farmington Bay this past Saturday for our Bird Photography event! There were a little over 20 attendees who joined us as we trekked through Farmington Bay to capture images of the local wildlife. We were able to see quite a few different species of birds and we hope you enjoyed trying out some impressive cameras and telephoto lenses.

Description

Spring in the Great Salt Lake provides essential habitat for millions of migrating and breeding birds that thrive in our climate. Farmington Bay, Utah is home to more than 200 species, and nearly 60 are known to nest there. Some species you’ll find in the springtime are Western and Clarks Grebes, American White Pelicans, White-faced Ibis, Sandhill Cranes, Black-necked Stilts, American Avocets, and Snowy Plovers.

Come join us as we take advantage of the prime wildlife conditions at Farmington Bay using telephoto lenses. We will meet at 7 am in front of the Great Salt Lake Nature Center where everyone will check in. From there, we will separate into three different groups. Please remember to wear a mask. We will have both Canon and Sony cameras and lenses available for attendeeswho may want a hands-on experience withsomething new. The pictureline rental department also has telephoto lenses to rent for those who shoot Nikon, and who want to familiarize themselves with their own system.
