Elinchrom EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus HS for Sony

Elinchrom has launched the EL-Skyport Transmitter Pro for Sony, a revolutionary wireless solution that is compatible with three generations of transceivers and flash heads, providing Hi-Sync flash synchronization speeds of up to 1/8000 sec.

This 20-channel transmitter features a prominent LCD screen that clearly displays all lights within your configuration. The Skyport Pro is capable of managing the modeling light and flash intensity for BRX, D-Lite RX, ELC Pro HD, and ELB flash heads, in addition to the EL-Skyport Transceiver RX for the Style RX, Digital RX, and Ranger RX systems. Operating on a 2.4 GHz frequency, it boasts an extended wireless range, enabling the triggering and control of flash heads from a distance of 196 feet indoors and 656 feet outdoors.

One of the most remarkable features of the transceiver is its Hi-Sync technology, which enables the use of shutter speeds up to 1/8000 of a second, significantly shorter than the standard sync speed of your camera. This capability allows photographers to overpower sunlight, freeze motion, darken backgrounds, or utilize wider apertures, thereby expanding the range of exposure options available. Additionally, the transmitter’s trigger signal can be finely adjusted using ODS (Over Drive Sync) to achieve optimal exposures at elevated shutter speeds.

The EL-Skyport Transmitter Pro operates on AA batteries and is equipped with a mini-USB connection for future firmware updates, ensuring its longevity and adaptability.

Visual Feedback Interface

The large LCD display of the Skyport Pro is equipped with a two-way control system through a Visual Feedback Interface, allowing users to view the precise power levels of each light in their configuration directly on the transmitter. Users can adjust the power levels and modeling lamp settings for each light directly from the Skyport transmitter, which promptly reflects the updated power settings.

Hi-Sync Technology

Enhance your camera’s capabilities beyond its X-Sync limit. Photographers have the option to activate Hi-Sync mode, allowing for synchronization speeds of up to 1/8000s. This feature enables the freezing of motion, overpowering sunlight, darkening backgrounds, or utilizing a wider aperture. The innovative ODS (Over Drive Sync) allows users to adjust the trigger signal of the Skyport plus HS transmitter, optimizing exposure at elevated shutter speeds and providing an additional two f-stops of light.

Impressive Wireless Range

The Skyport Pro is equipped with 20 frequency channels, which can be utilized in either Normal or Speed mode. It offers a wireless range of 656 feet when used outdoors and 196 feet indoors. Additionally, it includes a mini-USB port for firmware updates. Users can easily identify their current sync mode, as the backlit display emits a green light for normal sync mode and a red light for speed sync mode.

LCD Display

The LCD display provides a comprehensive overview of the power settings for each strobe unit, enabling complete control of all strobes directly from the Skyport Pro. Each strobe is automatically detected and displayed on the screen, allowing for adjustments to be made either on the transceiver or directly on the strobe unit. The HS transmitter facilitates the monitoring and control of up to 10 distinct EL strobes.

AF Assist Light

The Skyport Pro also includes an autofocus assist feature to help cameras focus in low light situations. This avoids using the flash unit’s modeling light which drains battery power.

Compatibility

The Skyport Pro serves as a cohesive addition to the EL-Skyport family, maintaining compatibility with the three earlier generations of flash units. This includes the EL-Skyport Transceiver RX module designed for the Style RX, Digital RX, and Ranger RX systems, as well as the integrated EL-Skyport modules for the BRX, D-Lite RX, ELC Pro HD, and ELB series. Furthermore, the Skyport Pro enhances synchronization capabilities and introduces two-way control functionality for all Elinchrom lights equipped with EL-Skyport technology.
