Open End Frames are made of spring steel with a 3/8″ pin and support which can be used to hang the Scrim from the C Stand handle when not in use.

The frame features two vertical arms that are slotted at both open ends, allowing for the retention of piano wire interlaced with the fabric, thereby forming the fourth side of the frame without casting a shadow. The open ends serve the purpose of regulating or directing light onto specific areas of the set or subject. They can effectively soften or diminish light without creating a distinct edge. A color-coded binding encircles the frame to facilitate the identification of the fabric. Additionally, the Open End Frames are coated with black powder to reduce any unwanted reflections.
