Utilizing a combination of classroom instruction and hands on practice, students are taught the basics of camera handling and setup. The fundamentals of exposure, and using shutter speeds and apertures as they pertain to crime scenes are reinforced. Advanced topics cover digital workflow, chain of custody, and tire track & footwear impressions.
An introductory class designed for agencies, departments and evidence photographers, making the transition from traditional film based photography to digital imaging.
Students will review and practice the basics of exposure and camera handling techniques as they pertain to forensic photography.
The difference between a snap shooter and a photographer is knowledge of the craft. Students will learn how to dramatically improve the quality of their images through proper white balance and file type selection. Chain of custody, basic standard operating procedures (SOP) and digital workflows will be addressed as well.
Learn the recommended settings for optimizing digital cameras for Forensic image capture. An emphasis will be made on producing quality finished files directly in the camera, minimizing the possibility of defense challenges. Another benefit is a reduction of post-processing time.
In this workshop, students will learn how to use a variety of lighting techniques for documenting a crime scene.
A course on the proper care of your digital equipment. Learn the correct methods for cleaning dust off the sensor. Prevent electronic failures with contact maintenance, and increase the lifespan of your batteries.
