As part of the Art series, this zoom lens is characterized by its constant maximum aperture of f/2.8, making it ideal for use in various lighting conditions. Its advanced optical construction incorporates a combination of low dispersion and aspherical elements, effectively reducing both chromatic and spherical aberrations across the entire zoom range, thereby ensuring superior sharpness, clarity, and color fidelity. The inclusion of a Super Multi-Layer Coating along with a Nano Porous Coating significantly diminishes lens flare and ghosting compared to traditional anti-reflective coatings, resulting in images with enhanced color accuracy and rich contrast under diverse lighting scenarios.

While full-time manual focus is an option, the lens features a stepping motor that facilitates smooth and rapid autofocusing, operating quietly whether employing Face/Eye Detection AF or during video recording. An Autofocus-Lock (AFL) button is integrated, allowing for the assignment of additional functions to expand the lens’s operational capabilities.
